The wildlife in this area is very varies and interesting. We haven,t seen many wild animals but the museum was great for seeing what is around in the parks here. The botanic gardens had alpine species all labeled so we might have an idea when we are walking.
There were also some lovely local Easter eggs and fabric patterns
The local limestone caverns are huge and we spent over an hour moving through them. Then a drive home with rain clouds gathering behind us.
This morning was spent at Spis castle a HUGE castle standing on a rocky pinnacle above the town. It is also a wonderful place to watch the peregrine and a local sort of ground squirrel that is in the red book.
This evening we have another thunderstorm, if it brightens up we will go rafting tomorrow, otherwise to the caves.
We have arrived in Slovakia after traveling from Krakov airport. I can't decide if being the only ones on our tour is good or bad, we are at a different hotel to the other group and feeling a bit abandoned at the moment. Sundays are very quiet and the museum we might have looked round is closed.
The room and pension are wonderful, asparagus is in and they have a special menu.lunch was asparagus and sesame chicken salad.
Tomorrow it is off to Spis castle. With our own private guide and transport we should have a good day, tonight's menu also looks very good , or we could have a 3 course asparagus feast. Wide angle and panoramas tomorrow.
